Part of the Westminster Infill Projects, this contract spanned enabling works, groundworks and frame packages across three sites.

Early enabling works included tunnelling a heading under the road to connect to an existing Victorian sewer, constructing a 5m deep manhole with backdrops, and installing a large waterproof attenuation tank.

A crane base with cast-in mast section, installed to tight tolerances, completed the enabling phase.

The groundworks package covered the full range: reduced level dig, ground beams, pile caps, lift pits, drainage, services, underslab cellcore, bentonite waterproofing, a suspended ground floor slab and brickwork to DPC.

The final element was a five-storey insitu concrete frame, with inclined upstands and columns from levels three to five demanding careful temporary works design. Precast stairs to the core completed the scope.
